ASSESSMENT. ANALYSIS. AUTONOMY
The 360 Behavior Consulting Approach to Therapeutic Consulting in Virginia
Therapeutic Consultation is available to individuals receiving services through Virginia's Community Living (CL) and Family and Individual Support (FIS) Developmental Disability Waivers. Services begin with a comprehensive assessment to identify the factors influencing behavior, understand the individual's strengths and support needs, and establish meaningful goals. We then partner with the individual, family, caregivers, and multidisciplinary team to develop a positive behavior support plan grounded in the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis.
These individualized plans are designed to reduce behaviors that interfere with quality of life while building communication, independence, social, and daily living skills. Through ongoing consultation, caregiver training, and collaboration with the support team, we help ensure strategies are implemented consistently across environments to promote meaningful outcomes.
At 360 Behavior Consulting, we believe lasting change occurs when support is individualized, proactive, and aligned with what matters most to the individual. We focus on identifying meaningful replacement skills, strengthening functional communication, and creating opportunities for greater choice, independence, and participation in everyday life. As trained special educators and Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs), we provide hands-on guidance and practical strategies that can be successfully implemented across home, community, work, and day settings. Our commitment is to foster autonomy, build skills, and create meaningful, lasting behavior change that enhances overall quality of life.

WHAT TO EXPECT
Therapeutic Consultation Process
-
Individuals enrolled in Virginia's Community Living (CL) or Family and Individual Supports (FIS) Waivers may choose 360 Behavior Consulting as their Therapeutic Consultation provider. We support individuals across the lifespan, including children, adolescents, and adults, with autism spectrum disorder, intellectual and developmental disabilities, severe behavioral challenges, and co-occurring mental health conditions. Our person-centered Therapeutic Consultation services are tailored to each individual's unique strengths, needs, and goals.
-
To get started, submit a Request for Services form or schedule a brief meet-and-greet. During this conversation, we will learn more about the individual's strengths, goals, and support needs, answer any questions, and discuss how Therapeutic Consultation may help promote meaningful outcomes
-
Once a referral is received, we collaborate with the individual, family, support coordinator, and other team members to identify goals and develop a person-centered plan for Therapeutic Consultation services. Services begin after authorization is approved by DBHDS.
-
We take time to get to know the individual, conduct observations across relevant settings, and gather information from key team members. Using this information, we develop individualized, strengths-based recommendations and a positive behavior support plan designed to improve quality of life, increase independence, and support meaningful outcomes.
-
Once the behavior support plan is finalized, our focus shifts to empowering the caregiving team. During this phase, our consultants provide hands-on training, model evidence-based interventions in the natural environment, and offer real-time coaching. This ensures that caregivers feel confident and clinically proficient in implementing the strategies necessary to support the individual’s long-term success and independence.
-
Therapeutic consultation is an iterative process. In this final stage, we conduct regular team meetings to review data collection and evaluate progress toward established goals. We provide ongoing support through plan modifications and updates, ensuring that interventions remain responsive to the individual’s evolving needs and maintain high levels of clinical effectiveness
